How to set up Duo VPN
Solution
To solve this issue, do the following:
- Download Duo Mobile to your phone from your app store. The link to those stores is below:

Apple Store - Open the Duo Mobile application and click “Set up account.” ***Please make sure notifications are enabled***
- Click “Use a QR code.”
- Once you receive your activation email from Duo Security, open it and follow the instructions.
- Scan the QR code in the activation email.
- Your CEC account is now linked to the Duo authenticator.
- Open the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client from your laptop.
- Click Start and type Cisco. The client will populate, and you can open it from here.
- Click Start and type Cisco. The client will populate, and you can open it from here.
- In the Cisco AnyConnect Client, click Connect to CEC SSL VPN.
- HQ CEC SSL VPN is the backup connection path.
- HQ CEC SSL VPN is the backup connection path.
- Enter your CEC login credentials in the pop up.
- This action will trigger the approval notification from the Duo Mobile application installed on your phone. Press Approve.
- ***Important note. Only press Approve in the Duo Mobile application if it initiated by your action. Other notifications could be the result of a malicious actor. If for any reason you receive unprovoked Duo notifications to authenticate, please open a ticket with the IT Support Desk at CEC Support Team
- Finally, click Accept on the Cisco AnyConnect banner. You are now connected to the VPN.
